How can you help reduce the amount of energy we waste when we’re shopping for electronics?
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has said it will work with companies to help them make their electronic goods recyclable and energy efficient.
But in some cases, the EPA has said that it can only help companies if they can prove that they are meeting the agency’s requirements.
Here are some things you can do if you have an electronics item you’d like to recycle.
The EPA has published guidance for companies on how to identify and identify recyclables, how to choose which items are recyclatable and what kind of waste products they can take to the landfill.
We’ve also published an interactive map showing where in the world you can recycle electronics.
You can find out more about how you can get involved with recycling and how you might find your next piece of electronics at our recycling resource page.
If you have any questions, you can contact the EPA at 800-741-2775 or visit the EPA website at www.epa.gov.au.
