Anderlecht winger Dries Mertens says he is at his absolute maximum level at Ajax.

The 21-year-old has played every minute of the club’s Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayer Leverkusen and the Eredivisie title-winning campaign.

Mertens scored twice and set up another in the 2-0 win over the Dutch side on Tuesday, and said he was delighted with his performances.

“I have to say, I am at my absolute best at Ajax,” he told the ERC.

“Ajax is one of the best clubs in the world, so I am really happy.”

It is a great club and I like it.
