Electronic items deal sales and sales of small electronic items (SEO) are expected to be among the biggest sellers in 2018, according to market research firm Nielsen.SEO deals are a small segment of the market, but they are expected in 2018 to account for 30% of total sales, up from 15% in 2017, according the company.
It expects this year to be even bigger, at 60% of all sales, compared to the previous year.
The biggest market share of any category will be in electronics, which will account for 44% of the category, up slightly from 38%.
The category has been on a steep rise in popularity in recent years, with consumers spending more money on these items than ever before.
In 2018, online sales of these items have increased by 12% year-on-year.
In 2017, online purchases of these products increased by 3% year on year.
There are also some signs that the industry is on the rebound.
Sales of online electronics and other digital items are expected at a new high this year, according an analysis by market research company IHS Markit.
Overall, online electronics sales have been growing at a strong rate in 2018.
However, this growth has been underpinned by the emergence of e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, Apple, Google, Facebook and eBay.
E-commerce sales in the category are expected be up 12% to $1.8 trillion in 2018 from $1 trillion in 2017.
Online sales of electronics are expected grow by 9% in 2018 compared to 2017, with e-Commerce accounts for 15% of sales.
