Panasonic, the world’s largest maker of LED-backed televisions and computers, has announced new smart glasses, including the Hottest Electronics, that feature advanced, next-generation LED technology.
The new glasses are currently available for purchase in select markets in China and South Korea.
The first batch of Hottest E-LED Smart Glasses, which will retail for around $100 each, will be available for preorder starting next week.
Hottest Electronics features the H20 Smart Glass that features an OLED screen and an LED backlight.
The glasses also include a battery life of up to seven hours on one charge.
The new glasses will ship in Q4 of 2018.
“Our goal is to deliver Hottest electronics as soon as possible and we are excited to offer the H10 Smart Glass for those who want to take their entertainment experience to the next level,” said John Chiao, CEO of Panasonic Electronics.
“We believe that the new technology offers a great experience for users who are new to smart glasses and for those that want to experience advanced and personalized entertainment without the need to buy new glasses.”
Panasonic’s smart glasses will also be available in the United States for $30.
Panasonic currently sells its smart glasses in Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, and Italy.
The company has announced partnerships with some of the world’ top companies in various industries, including Amazon and Microsoft, to deliver its products to consumers in the U.S. and Canada.
